Acne Bacteria

The skin of humans is covered with numerous different types of bacteria, many of which do us good by preventing other, more pathogenic, lethal and damaging bacteria from growing on our skin. Normal bacteria found on our skin include Staphylococcus epidermidis, and many more. Malassezia furfur, a yeast, is known to cause neonatal acne. Propionibacterium acnes is well known to contribute to acne. Here we discuss these acne contributing bacteria and yeast.
