Diagnosis of Acne
Diagnosis of Acne is mostly through observing the appearance of the skin. There are very few blood tests or procedures that can be used to identify acne versus other causes. There is some bloodwork that is done, but this is mainly for females, looking for hormonal influences and changes that can cause severe acne. The role for skin biopsy in acne is poor.
