Acne Blood Tests

Blood tests for acne are few and there use limited, with the except of hormone tests. These tests are used when females come to the physician complaining of constant and recurrent acne with evidence of male type of physical appearances. These include effects from high levels of androgens, such as facial hair, abnormal and irregular timings of menses, and muscle thickness. High levels of androgens can be due to many causes, such as polycystic ovarian disease, and environmental steroids.
