Pemphigus Vulgaris History

Historical aspects and timeline of the discovery of pemphigus vulgaris by Jordon and Beutner. These individuals found circulating antibodies against skin cells in the blood of patients with pemphigus vulgaris. Subsequently, scientists found antibodies being stuck onto the surface of the skin when put in a disk. With new DNA technologies, it was found that the antibodies are against adhesion molecules.
