Eczema
Eczema, also known as dermatitis, meaning inflammation of the dermis, skin. Eczema, dermatitis, is an itchy (pruritic) skin diseases which can present either acutely or chronically. In its acute presentation, eczema appears as red, papules with vesicles and crusts. Chronically, eczema looks like a red thickening of the skin, from chronic rubbing. This is termed lichenification and is seen in areas affected by eczema over long periods of time. Here we provide information on all forms of eczema.
