Genital Acne

GENITAL ACNE

The genital area involves all parts of the female anatomy that are responsible for reproduction.  This includes both internal and external organs that have a task to accomplish, and play a particular role throughout the female reproduction process.  A topical condition called genital acne, if left untreated, can have devastating effects on the reproduction cycle.

Acne Lesions

The condition of genital acne, which in layman's terms is called pimples, blackheads or lesions, when found on the facial area, can be easily treated.  People are pretty comfortable discussing their zits with their schoolmates, friends and colleagues.  However, when genital acne is found in the lower extremities of a man or woman, precautions should be taken to ensure that your reproductive health is not at stake. What is assumed to be a minor bump or an ingrown hair may actually be an acne lesion in the shadows that can cause you great discomfort and impair your ability to have a normal pregnancy.

Discussion

Discussing the discomforts involved with genital acne with family members will be awkward and it sometimes prevents a person from seeking treatments.  If not taken seriously and if the genital acne is allowed to manifest to a lesion state, the genital parts affected with genital acne can circumvent fertilization and childbirth because of infection that has spread to the reproductive organs.

Female Genitalia

There are many external parts of the female reproduction system that can be initially affected by genital acne.  They include the vulva, greater vestibular glands, lesser vestibular glands, labia majora, clitoris, or vestibule. The greater and lesser vestibular glands will sweat throughout the day and these areas will often stay moist.  Yeast will form in the vulva, and if not treated, will allow further infection of the reproduction system.
In a cascading effect, genital acne has seeded itself into hair follicles that often replenish themselves, and create pores that remain open throughout the day.  Through these opening, genital acne will have an avenue to reach your circulatory system.  Through areas of the reproduction system that have a high heat source and humidity level, a myriad of bacteria will grow and turn simple pimples to lesions that adhere to the vaginal opening.

Genital Hygiene

Through daily bathing and the use of personal care products and cleansing techniques, genital acne can be side-stepped.  There are personal hygiene products that can be used to cleanse the vaginal area and anal extremities such as douches and feminine towels.  Through the use of trimmers, hair follicles can be manicured and controlled.  Through personal awareness of your body, genital acne can be stopped before it takes a stronghold on your life.
