1) Remove precipitating factors
2) Skin rehydration and care
3) Anti-inflammatory agents:
- mild corticosteroid creams for face (Hydrocortisone 1%)
- stronger for body (Betamethasone valterate 0.05%)
- add tar (5-10% LCD)
4) Anti-histamines (Diphenhydramine elixir up to 5mg/kg/day)
5) Treat secondary bacterial infections with topical antibiotics, oral antibiotic if widespread
As mentioned above; mainly avoiding anything that worsens the itching and redness of the lesions.
