PHOTODYNAMIC THERAPY DOSES

PHOTODYNAMIC THERAPY DOSES

PHOTODYNAMIC THERAPY DOSES depend on application time and diffusion of the compound into the skin and tissue. Light wavelengths and irradiance are also important. Low doses are used for small indolent skin changes, such as actinic keratoses and acne. Higher doses are used for more resistant skin changes, that are more serious also, such as skin cancers, like melanoma, basal cell carcinoma, and squamous cell carcinoma.
